The HSE Law School Career Day held on April 24 was a packed event. We spoke with motivated students who are already consciously mapping out their career paths while still in school. We discussed participation in moot courts and academic publications, professional interests, and potential career paths. It is important for us to help students better understand the “inner workings” of the profession: what skills will be in demand, how to plan their development, and what challenges they should be prepared for.
As part of the event, KKMP lawyer Alexey Nedospasov led a master class titled “Bank Lawyer vs. Banking Practice Lawyer.” Drawing on his experience in both fields, he compared the career of a corporate lawyer at a bank with that of a banking practice lawyer in consulting, providing a detailed analysis of the differences in tasks, approaches, level of responsibility, as well as work schedules and pace. The session took the form of an active dialogue—questions continued even after the master class concluded.
At our booth, we provided detailed information about the internship program at KKMP. We view it as an important part of a professional start: interns work in teams with our lawyers on real projects, familiarize themselves with the firm’s practices, undergo training through KKMP University, where senior colleagues address practical issues, and receive support from mentors to adapt more quickly and handle their first professional tasks with greater confidence. This format provides a strong start for those who are truly committed to professional development.
