How Trump presidency could change sanctions on Russia - Elvira Khasanova comments on RBC
Elvira Khasanova, KKMP Senior Associate, has commented on possible developments for Russia if Trump comes to power.

"With a new US president, we can reasonably expect a change in the direction of US sanctions regulations. This can be manifested both in the adoption of new acts, and in the change of decision-making process in the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury (OFAC) as the main body administering sanctions.

As a rule, with administration changes, the approach to the main issues of governance of ministries and agencies also shifts. This may affect, for example, the issuance of licenses to Russian persons, the removal from the sanctions lists and the addition of new persons to the lists, and joint work with the sanctions authorities of other countries".
