KKMP Strengthens its Team: Denis Ivanov Joins as Partner and Head of Capital Markets Practice.

With 25 years of experience at leading international law firms, including Clifford Chance, Clearly Gottlieb, and Latham & Watkins, as well as in his own practice, Denis Ivanov has a distinguished track record of successfully completing numerous unique, large-scale, and award-winning projects. His notable achievements include pioneering work on Russia's first securitization, subordinated loan, and issuance of mortgage-backed securities. He also spearheaded a groundbreaking project involving the transfer of a major Russian issuer's depositary receipt program from American to independent infrastructure. His expertise extends to significant public offerings, including Sberbank (USD 5.2 billion) and VTB (USD 5.2 billion and USD 3.3 billion).

Furthermore, Denis has led numerous successful projects internationally, including the first listing of a Kazakh company on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (MM Petroleum), as well as a variety of mergers and acquisitions and portfolio investments.

Each step in KKMP's development is carefully considered and strategically driven. As the financial landscape transforms and new instruments emerge, qualified legal support for capital markets transactions becomes critical for success. KKMP’s Capital Markets practice has already been recognized by leading Russian rankings (Band I: "Kommersant", Group II: "Pravo-300"). By integrating Denis’s expertise, we aim to further solidify our position as a leading force in this area, comments Alyona Kucher, KKMP Senior Partner.

In this era of reshaping the financial landscape, a key objective for the Russian capital market's development over the next five years (2025-2030) is a substantial increase in its capitalization. Achieving this ambitious goal requires not only a significant increase in the number of initial public offerings (IPOs) but also a considerable enhancement in the value of existing market assets. This new phase in the Capital Markets practice will enable us to provide clients with the innovative solutions they need to thrive in this evolving environment and secure a tangible competitive advantage, adds Maxim Kuleshov, KKMP Managing Partner.

Our vision goes beyond simply supporting a client's capital markets transaction. We aim to create opportunities for them to achieve their strategic objectives. This requires not only competence and experience but also a client-centric approach, a genuine desire to deeply understand their specific needs and business context, and, often, innovative thinking. The Capital Markets practice at KKMP undoubtedly possesses all the qualities necessary to tackle our clients' most ambitious goals, notes Denis Ivanov.
