AI in M&A deals
In anticipation of our webinar on November 12, dedicated to the current topic of using artificial intelligence in M&A projects, we asked our guest expert Kirill Dyakov a question.

- Kirill, what is your assessment of how widespread the use of AI tools in M&A deals is today in the world in general and in Russia in particular?

Artificial intelligence tools in M&A projects have already become widespread in the world. Professional market players are actively investing in generative AI to speed up the conclusion of deals.

According to Deloitte's 2025 M&A Generative AI Study, 86% of corporations and private investors surveyed have already integrated generative AI into their M&A projects. The most common use of these tools is in the initial stages: For strategy development and market assessment (40%), target selection and initial target analysis (35%), and due diligence (35%). M&A teams are moving beyond pilot experiments to embedding embedded, results-oriented AI solutions as part of a broad digital transformation strategy.

In Russia, this trend is not so visible yet. Off-the-shelf services on the market usually perform narrow tasks of analyzing and preparing standard documents. Their functionality for comprehensive support of M&A transactions remains limited.

It is known that some large Russian consulting companies are actively developing internal AI platforms. These systems work with their own and the best public LLM models, creating an ecosystem of services. In the future, such platforms will be able to automate document analysis, content generation, routine tasks and the development of AI agents, which in the future may be applicable in M&A projects. At the same time, specialized services aimed specifically at M&A transactions are being developed.

Against this background, it is particularly interesting to consider global practice and the solutions that the international market offers today for M&A projects. I will share a detailed overview of my findings at the webinar on November 12.
