U.S. Sanctions and Export Control Measures against Kaspersky Lab
On June 21, OFAC added Kaspersky Lab leadership to the SDN List. 12 top managers, including the Chief Legal Officer and Chief Human Resources Officer, were targeted by the sanctions. OFAC’s actions are related to the threat to the U.S. cybersecurity.

On June 20, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) also added Kaspersky Lab JSC, Kaspersky Group LLC (Russian Federation), and Kaspersky Labs Limited (United Kingdom) to the Entity List. This list includes entities subject to stringent export control measures.

In addition, for the first time since the issue of Executive Order 13873 of 15.05.2019, measures were imposed on Kaspersky Lab’s U.S. subsidiary, Kaspersky Lab, Inc., prohibiting it from providing cybersecurity services to U.S. persons. More detailed information on the measures can be found here.

BIS reports that these actions were taken as a result of a comprehensive investigation finding that the company's continued activity in the United States posed a security threat due to the Russian government's ability to influence Kaspersky Lab.
