Chinese Arbitration: Rules of the Game
Recently, Russian companies have begun to consider China as a venue for resolving international commercial disputes. However, despite the attractiveness of the prospect of a swift and efficient hearing, the cost of international arbitration in China remains a relevant issue.

According to an article in Kommersant, unlike state courts, commercial arbitration offers shorter case processing times (6-12 months), but arbitration fees vary. For example, CIETAC is the most expensive, while BAC is more economical, according to Chuck Peng, Head of KKMP China Desk. According to other market experts, overall, the cost of services in China is comparable to that in Russia, but may appear higher due to engaging English-speaking specialists with experience in international projects.
