There is no secret that contractual deadlines have always been a stumbling block in construction. And in recent years, given the complicated procurement of materials and equipment, epidemiological restrictions and the like, the number of disputes over the deadlines has soared. It is hardly possible to completely avoid such disputes under a construction contract. But requiring the contractor to develop and comply with a critical path schedule rather than a more common linear schedule may well increase the customer’s level of protection.
