Senior KKMP Partner , Alyona Kucher, spoke at the session “Innovations in Legal Protection of Business” with a report titled “Digital Rights as a New Regime in Russian Civil Law.” Alyona discussed the new concept of digital rights in civil law, its distinction from the broader concept of digital rights used in public law sectors. She analyzed the legal nature of digital rights, their similarities and differences with book-entry securities, and presented arguments for and against recognizing digital rights as an independent object of civil legal relations and establishing a separate legal regime applicable to them.
KKMP Partner Stanislav Dobshevich also participated in the forum, speaking in the International section on the topic “Peculiarities of Disputes between Financial Market Participants with a Foreign Element in Russian Courts.” In his report, Stanislav highlighted the specifics of applying the provisions of Articles 248.1 and 248.2 in current judicial practice, as well as explained how Russian courts currently approach the application of foreign law and what approaches exist in this regard.
