Alyona Kucher has been named as Corporate Lawyer of the Year and recognized as a leading
M&A lawyer in Russia by Best Lawyers (2022). Legal 500 EMEA (2021) recommends Alyona
as a specialist in corporate and M&A projects and commends her for her work in real estate,
fuel and energy, and mining projects, describing her as a "a top-level professional with the
broadest range of practical skills and theoretical knowledge". It also notes that she is a
"dedicated and experienced" lawyer with a "unique approach" that combines "academic

Alyona has significant experience in advising clients on general corporate matters,
construction transactions (including major infrastructure projects), the sale, purchase, leases
and management of real estate, oil and gas projects and M&A transactions.
Prior to the formation of KKMP, Alyona was with Debevoise & Plimpton LLP for over 20 years.
She graduated with honors from Moscow State University Law School in 2000, received her
PhD in Law in 2002 and currently teaches Civil and Private International Law at the Moscow
State University Law School. In 2004, she worked in the New York office of Debevoise &
Plimpton LLP and did an internship at New York University.
Alyona has served as a member of the Expert Council on Corporate Governance at the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and a member of the Council for the Improvement of Arbitration Proceedings under the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation. She was awarded a diploma by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation for her contribution to the Ministry's work. Alyona is also on the list of recommended arbitrators of the Russian Arbitration Center and ICC Russia.
Alyona is the author of a book on contract formation and negotiation procedures, a co-author of the leading Russian textbook on civil law, published by the Faculty of Law of Lomonosov Moscow State University, and author of a number of articles on various issues of Russian law.
