On July 13, 2026, a meeting was held of the working group on developing a unified approach to insuring large-scale projects under the Banking and Insurance Committee of the Association of Russian Banks (ASROS).
The event brought together leading experts from major credit institutions, VEB.RF, the brokerage and insurance communities, law firms, appraisal firms, and other specialized consultants.
Roman Sadovsky, a counsel to the KKMP, participated in the meeting, which focused on the following key topics:
- a discussion ofthe results of surveys of representatives from banks and the business sector (policyholders) regarding current practices in insuring large-scale investment projects, conducted with the participation of the Association;
- the need to standardize and adapt insurance practices for large-scale projects for participants in the investment process;
- further steps toward developing a unified approach and recommended solutions.
According to the meeting participants, establishing a single, unified approach, common terminology, and transparent rules for insuring major risks will facilitate a constructive dialogue among all parties involved in the investment process, improve the quality of expert assessments, and enhance the level of protection for projects. Such an approach should be understandable to policyholders and ensure a balance between their financial interests and the interests of all participants.
