Our Chinese Law Practice (China Desk) has been in operation for two years. Through this practice, we provide a wide range of services to Russian companies entering the Chinese market and working with Chinese counterparties, as well as to Chinese companies conducting or planning to conduct business in Russia.
Today, we have built up a substantial portfolio of projects and established a network of close and fruitful cooperation with leading Chinese law firms. It is precisely the high level of development of our practice that has allowed us to maximize the impact of our business mission. We have expanded our existing partnerships and reached a new level of business collaboration, expertise, and practical insights, which confirms our leadership in the legal services market for China (according to Pravo.ru). It’s time to move forward!
In July of this year, our team—comprising KKMP Senior Partner Alena Kucher, KKMP Partner Anna Maksimenko, and Director of Marketing and Business Development Oksana Bagreeva—along with the top management of Pravo.ru (the leading national benchmark for the legal services market): Boris Boltansky and Alexey Otradnov—embarked on a business mission to China.
The business mission’s code name was “Iron Man”—only the strongest will survive! Now we might add “Those Who Escaped the Typhoon” to the name… but more on that later...
Over the course of 10 days, we made a lot of friends on WeChat, and it took 1,000 kilometers on high-speed trains, flights through turbulence, early mornings, and late-night returns. We kept going on liters of green tea, duck, shark, abalone, and sea cucumbers—but, most importantly, of course, on our enthusiasm and the quest to find new and useful things for our clients. We’re grateful to our colleagues at Pravo.ru for their support, energy, and initiative!
During the trip, our colleagues from Pravo.ru introduced China’s leading law firms and rating agencies to the “Pravo-300” rating methodology. This marked the beginning of a dialogue on joint research and the creation of clear guidelines for investors in the legal markets of both countries.
