Artificial Intelligence - a lawyer's arsenal

With the rapid development of artificial intelligence, the legal sector is actively applying AI solutions in its work.

Today, the Pravor.ru portal published an article on the modern technological solutions most commonly used in legal practice around the world. For example, China has created a court simulator to reduce the cost of training students, and in Shenzhen, AI helps judges speed up the process of resolving labor disputes. In the US, there is a development for arbitration, where part of the work is also entrusted to an algorithm.

According to Elena Poleva, senior lawyer at KKMP, there is another area of application for AI by lawyers: the analysis of court documents.

"A lawyer can upload a court decision to a neural network and ask it to summarize the decision and the arguments used. However, searching for case law is still an impossible task for AI, as the neural network either starts to invent non-existent court decisions or does not have sufficient analytical skills to compare what is stated in the court decision with the lawyer's request. Additionally, AI can be used for public information searches during due diligence: instead of manually searching for news related to the company being investigated, you can ask AI to do it and save a lot of time. However, analytical functions still have to be performed by humans," concludes Elena Polevaya.

Experts remind us of the subtleties and risks associated with AI technologies, calling for their responsible use, exclusively in conjunction with human intelligence.

"It is necessary to pay increased attention to issues of confidentiality and personal data when using AI. Almost every second company bears the risk of losses caused by careless disclosure of sensitive information: according to research, employers often share confidential data with AI without the employer's permission. And in the event of a personal data leak, it is the company that will be held administratively liable," Elena emphasizes.

In Russia, there is indeed a trend toward creating and integrating proprietary technological solutions. Speaking of proprietary developments! We previously wrote about the launch of our subsidiary KKMP.Tech and our products FileHunter and FileMaster, and on March 4 at 10:00 a.m., don't miss our webinar, where we will talk in detail and demonstrate all the advantages of our solutions in real time.
